Funeral services for Charlie Speed were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2003
in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating was Revs. David Hoffpauir and
Author Robinson. Burial was in Zion Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Speed, age 45 of Winnfield, LA died Friday, March 21, 2003 in his
residence. He was born in Winnfield, LA, was the son of Walter and Christine
Folden Speed and was a truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Speed of Winnfield, LA; three sons, Jonathan
Speed and Joshua Speed, both of Winnfield, LA and Travis Speed of Lafayette,
LA; his mother, Christine Speed of Winnfield, LA; four brothers, Gilbert Speed
of Hedley, TX, Walter Lee Speed of Shreveport, LA, Guy Speed of Winnfield, LA
and Nicky Speed of Dodson, LA; two sisters, Jean Wise of Calvin, LA and Marcia
Thibodeaux of Winnfield, LA; one step-daughter, Cathy Shelton of Lafayette, LA
and four step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Danny Griffin, Mike Walker, Bo Griffin, James Cox, James
Wright, Clayton Freeman, Dwight Bryant and Teddy Barnett.
Honorary Pallbearers were: L.B. Griffin and Dobbie Norris.
