C. E. HARPER FUNERAL HELD

GUSTINE -- Funeral services were conducted Friday in the Evans-Krieger Funeral Chapel for Charlie Edward Harper, 56, who died Tuesday in Martinez.

A native of Oklahoma, he had resided in the Gustine area intermittently since 1953. He worked 10 years as a mechanic for the Jim Husman farming operation.

Harper is survived by his mother Mollie Harper of Livingston; four daughters, Shirley Stanton of Belmont, Charlene Harper and Betty Jean Young of Keyes, and Sharon Ray of Ripon; four brothers, W. W. (Bill) of Livingston, Robert of Odessa, Texas, and James and Jimmie D. Harper, both of Tatem, Texas; five sisters, Christine Hale of Gustine, Betty McNeley of Pittsburg, Arlene Silva of Fresno and Barbara Smith of Odessa, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 28 nieces and nephews.
