Mr. Gardner was born in Eudora, Arkansas on October 7, 1932 to the late Aubrey Gardner and Miranda Missouri Hillman Gardner. He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Brown & Root as a welder.
Charlie Gardner was an outgoing, funny, fun, loving man. Some of his favorite things to do were to fish, play darts, play Wahoo and love to be with his grand babies. If you needed him for anything he was there for you. He was charmer with the ladies; every nurse loved having him and would stop by just to see him. He could brighten up anyone's day and make them smile. He loved to sing one of his favorite songs was “Hey Good Looking” by Hank Williams. He also loved to laugh and make people laugh. He had so many stories to tell and so many things to share with everyone. He was a fighter and was known as the energizer bunny. He was always there to wrap his arms around you and say “bless your little heart”. He was a very giving man, not only did he give his love but he would give out crosses that his favorite girls made. He was smart; he knew so much and could help you or teach you about anything. He was also a really good cook his meat loaf was the best along with breakfast. He was an early riser and being earlier for appointment was his thing. He also loved holding his grandbabies hand. Being around people he loved and people that loved him was what made him happy. He loved to watch John Wayne and have a orange Sunkist with peanuts.
