Charlie Hawthorne

PARHAMS -- Services for Charlie Hawthorne will be at 10 a.m. Sunday in Parhams Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry Doughty and Raymond Beard officiating. Burial will be in Jena Cemetery, Jena, under direction of Young's, Jonesville.

Hawthorne, 84, of Parhams died Friday in Catahoula Parish Hospital, Jonesville.

He was a deacon of Parhams Baptist Church for 50 years. He was president and charter member of the Young at Heart Club.

Survivors include his wife, Allie Hawthorne of Parhams; one son, James Hawthorne of Anacoco; one daughter, Verdis Dowdy of Alexandria; two brothers, Grady Hawthorne of Jena and Aubrey Hawthorne of Springhill; one sister, Doshia LaCroix of Wildsville; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call until time of services Sunday in the church.
