Father of local man buried Tuesday at Columbia.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for Charlie Leonard Flynt, 54, of Columbia with burial in the Columbia Cemetery.

Mr. Flynt was the father of Larry Flynt of Purvis.

Elders Bardie McDaniel and Ernest Ray Duff of Columbia took part in the rites. Pallbearers were Lavelle Hollingsworth, Arthur McDaniel, Merlin McDaniel, Otis Spiers, J. W. Robertson, Holly Piner, Price McWhorter, Kenneth McDaniel and Malcolm Mullins.

Mr. Flynt died unexpectedly at his home in Columbia Saturday afternoon. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A native of Covington County, Mr. Flynt had been a resident of Columbia about 30 years.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maudie Green Flynt of Columbia; one daughter, Mrs. Joan Thurman of Prentiss; three sons, Bobby and Jerrol Flynt of Columbia and Larry Flynt of Purvis; his mother, Mrs. Taylor Flynt of Southgate, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Cecil Fortenberry of Emmanuel and Mrs. Rosie Bascom of Lynwood, Calif.; one brother, Doyle Flynt of Southgate, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
