Charlotte Ann Sandmann, 65, of McAlester, died Friday, March 24, 2006, in Tulsa.
Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Chaney’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Keith Kinnamon officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home of McAlester.
Born July 22, 1940, in Yuma, Ariz., she was the daughter of Otto and Ruby Lee (Ross) McCarty. She was raised in Ringling and graduated high school from Coalgate. She graduated from Hills Business College in Tulsa.
She married Fred Sandmann on March 5, 1966, in McAlester. She retired in 1992 from the United States Army Ammunition Depot after working 25 years.
She enjoyed cooking, collecting cookbooks, going to garage sales and gardening.
She was a member of the McAlester Elks Lodge and was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Sandmann, of the home; a sister-in-law, Viola New, of Tulsa; a brother-in-law, Louis John Sandmann Jr., of Coalgate; her nephews, Mark Sandmann and wife, Rebecca, of Atoka, Kelly Sandmann and wife, Dana, of McAlester, and Johnny Sandmann, of Coalgate; her great-nephews, Jordan, Matt, Chance, Weston and William, and her cousins, Patsy Jones, Mike Gibson, Wendell Watkins and Sissie Butler.
Pallbearers will be Dale Logan, Gary Shorts, Fred Cleveland, Bobby Lenardo, Frank Maffeo and Jerry Rose.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Kiser, Bob Cisco and Don Trusell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Ruby Lee McCarty, and her aunts, Ethel Ross and Lottie Ross.
