Charmaigne Montgomery
January 6, 1930 - December 28, 2013

Charmaigne Gaar Montgomery, age 83, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at her home in Baton Rouge.

A lifelong resident of Louisiana, she was born January 6, 1930 in Bosco. Raised in Clinton, she first moved to Baton Rouge to attend LSU in 1948. While at LSU, she served as the Pershing Rifles Sponsor. Charmaigne was a member of University Baptist Church and retired from the LA Department of Revenue.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Deborah Montgomery Espersen of Houston TX, Robin Ann Montgomery of Baton Rouge, and Lynn Montgomery Montag and husband Jerry of Rockford, MI; 3 grandchildren, Robert Edwin Espersen, Helen Rose Montag, and William Sidney Montag; and 2 sisters-in-law, Gloria Elkins Gaar and Dot Montgomery Phillips.

Predeceased by her husband, William Ovell Montgomery; parents, Ashville and Esther Rayburn Gaar; sister, Joe Merle Gaar Morris; and brother, James Barton Gaar.

The family would like to thank caregivers, Patti Weatherly, Christy West, and Adrienne Gordon for their loving care over the past several years.

Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 10:00 am until the funeral service begins at 12:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Warren Miller. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Pallbearers are Robert Espersen, William Montag, Jerry Montag, Johnny Marshall III, Chris Tarver, and Rylan Sproles.
