Chester Erskins

SIKES -- Funeral services for Chester Erskins, 77, of Sikes, were to be at 2 p.m. today in Sikes Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie James officiating.

Burial was to be in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mr. Erskins died at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday in Winnfield General Hospital.

A member of the Rosemary Masonic Lodge No. 278 of Sikes, Mr. Erskins was a native of Sikes.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Erskins of Sikes; two sons, Sherman Erskins of Karnack, Tex. and Chester A. Erskins of Sterlington; one daughter, Mrs. R. B. Summers of Karnack, Tex.; one stepson, W. J. Taylor of Springhill; one stepdaughter, Mrs. H. L. Jones of Collinsville, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Gulledge and Mrs. Vera McMurry, both of Sikes, and Mrs. Ester Miller of Liberty, Tex.; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
