CHESTER LEE HAYNES
October 10, 1921 - July 30, 2013

Chester Lee Haynes, age 91, of Grand Prairie, Texas was called to the Lord quietly and peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2013.

Chester was born to the late Fain and Fleda Haynes on October 10, 1921 in Bingen, Arkansas. He attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where he was awarded a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 1949. Soon after, Chester joined the United States Army where he served 5 years in World War II and the Korean War. Married 63 years to Joyce Evelyn Holden, they raised their two daughters in Grand Prairie. As faithful members of First Baptist Church, Chester served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and in the Master's Builders Ministry. He retired from LTV in 1985 after 27 years of service.

Chester is survived by his wife Joyce, daughters Kathy Beasley and Phyllis Carlin, son-in-law Glenn Carlin, grandchildren Jake and Will Beasley, sisters Mary Ponder, Frances Aylett and Sara Young, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who are blessed to have known and loved him.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 2, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Funeral Home located at 733 Dalworth Street. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church located at 122 Northeast 2nd Street in Grand Prairie. Interment to follow at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington.
