Christine F. Speed

Christine F. Speed, age 75, of Winnfield, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004 at the Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield.

She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

She was the daughter of the late Guy Folden and the late Leona Rolen Folden.

Survivors include her two daughters, Marcia Thibodeaux of Winnfield and Jean Wise of Calvin; four sons, Guy H. Speed and Nicky Speed of Winnfield, Gilbert Speed of Hedley, Texas, and Lee Speed of Shreveport; three sisters, Etoile Alford of Winnfield, Pauline Roberson of Winnfield and Barbara Hawroth [sic Haworth] of Wyatt, La.; five brothers, Jack Folden, Louie Folden and Carlie Ray Folden of Winnfield, John Folden of Brighton, Tenn., and Morris Folden of Lecilia [sic Cecilia], Ky.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Speed was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Speed; son, Charlie Speed; grandson, Jimmy Wise; and brother, Dave Folden.

Arrangements are under the direction of Southern Funeral Homes, Winnfield, La., where the family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004 and from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004.

Funeral services will be at Southern Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004. Rev. David Hoffpauir will officiate. Interment will be in Zion Hill Cemetery in Winnfield.
