Pneumonia Fatal To Aged Citizen Near Forest

Funeral services for C. L. Hatten, 78-year-old farmer of near Forest, who died last Friday at his home, were conducted from the Forest Baptist church Sunday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Z. T. Sullivan, pastor of the Forest Baptist church officiating. Interment followed in a cemetery there.

Mr. Hatten died following an attack of pneumonia, after an illness of five days.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Della Jones Hatten; six children, Mark and Lema Hatten, Mrs. Ed Lester, Mrs. L. H. Slaughter and Mrs. J. G. Fowler; two half-brothers, Dr. Jim Faith and Wilburn Faith, both of Winnfield; four half-sisters, Mrs. W. T. Walker of Ruston, Mrs. Will Dark of Winnfield, Miss Zettie Faith of Alexandria and Mrs. Louella Smith of Dodson; 17 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hatten was born February 28, 1862 in Winn parish and lived there until he moved to West Carroll in 1901. Since then he had resided continuously near Forest, engaged in farming.
