GILBERT
Claiborne ``Clay'' Dirk Gilbert, 44, of Jefferson City died Tuesday morning, July 5, 2005 at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born November 21, 1960 in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Welton B. `Bo' and Bettye Prince Gilbert. He was married on March 31, 1984 to Theresa Ann Hartman at Grace Episcopal Church by Reverend Harvel Sanders.
Clay attended Jefferson City High School and Nichols Career Center. After graduating from Nichols Career Center with a certificate in Electronics, Clay spent several years designing and building cable TV systems across the country as an independent contractor. Later, he designed, built, owned and operated C&G Cablevision for 15 years.
For the last 11 years he has been employed by the Jefferson City cable TV system (currently owned by Mediacom). Clay enjoyed playing pool and cards with his friends, playing disc golf and taking Missouri vacations with his family. He loved his Dallas Cowboys.
Clay is survived by his wife Theresa, a son, Christopher, and a daughter, Kellie. Other survivors include his parents of Jefferson City; a sister, Shirley L. Gassen of Buford, Georgia; and two brothers, Michael W. Gilbert of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Sean Patrick Gilbert of Jefferson City, as well as several nieces and nephews, and one great niece and two great nephews.
Friends will be received from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2005 at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend Harvel Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
