Claire Rolen

Claire Theresa Ulm Rolen was born in Orange, Texas on June 10, 1926. She went to be with her Lord in Heaven on January 30, 2005, in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 78. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Rolen and son Patrick Rolen.

Claire was a devoted member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, the Women's Altar Society, and the Church Choir. She served as Eucharistic Minister and brought Holy Communion to individuals hospitalized and homebound. She also volunteered with Friends Helping Friends, and the Soup Kitchen, to name a few. Claire was a loving wife, mother and kind friend to all those she met. She will be dearly missed by all those whose life she touched over the years.

Survivors include her children, Tom Rolen, Mary Claire Solomon, Cecilia Gravett and Michael Rolen; nine grandchildren, Becky Sichterman, Tammye Crawford, Joey Solomon, Matthew Rolen, Michael C. Gravett, Laurie Solomon, David Rolen, Mark Gravett, and Christopher Rolen; eight great grandchildren, Nathan Rolen, Tiffany Sichterman, Tabbitha Sichterman, Hassani Gravett, Tymeria Gravett, Dakota Crawford, Mackenzie Crawford, and Christian Gravett; eight sisters and one brother.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, February 1, 2005, at 5:00 p.m. and a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2005, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orange, with the Reverend Tom Phelan and Reverend John Ulm, concelebrants. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Orange. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael C. Gravett, Mark Gravett, David Rolen, Chris Rolen, Matthew Rolen and Nathan Rolen.
