Clara B. Jordan Dies After Long Illness
Clara B. Jordan, 83, of Route 1, Dodson, died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 1986, at Humana Hospital Winn Parish after a long illness.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 2, at 2 p.m. at Welcome Home Baptist Church in the Hudson Community, Rev. J. W. Kennedy and Rev. Lester Carpenter officiating.
Burial was in Zion Hill Cemetery near Tannehill under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Mrs. Jordan was a native of Jackson Parish and a charter member of Welcome Home Baptist Church. She sent eight children to Winn Parish public schools for 33 consecutive years.
Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar A. Jordan, also of the Hudson Community.
Survivors include two sons, John W. Jordan and Roy D. Jordan, both of Dodson; one stepdaughter, Ruby Adams of Dodson; two brothers, Jesse Brewer of Winnfield and J. W. Brewer of Shreveport; four sisters, Mrs. Christine Smith, Mrs. Margaret Jourdan, and Mrs. Mary Roberts, all of Winnfield, and Mrs. Dora Dale Wall of Natchitoches; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jerry Roberts, Joe Shields, Randy Cox, Claude Murphy, Jr., Jesse Dale Brewer, and J. W. ``Pete'' Johnson.
