MRS. CLARA EMMONS

JONESBORO -- Fune[r]al services for Mrs. Clara Elizabeth Emmons, 79, of Sikes will be held at 3 p.m. today in the Sikes Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie James officiating.

Burial will be in the Sikes Cemetery under the direction of the Edmond's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Emmons died Friday in a Winnfield hospital after a lengthy illness. She was a native of Texas and a retired school teacher.

Survivors include five sons, Winnifred Emmons of Beaumont, Tex., Martel W. Emmons of Baton Rouge, Glenroy Emmons of Fort Collins, Colorado, Fontaine Emmons of Monroe, and Bob Emmons of Sikes; one daughter, Mrs. Elinor Hartsell of Magnolia, Ark.; one brother, Q. T. Wilson of Belton, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Berry and Mrs. Marietta Burner both of Temple, Tex.; and 19 grandchildren.

Funeral Rites For Mrs. Clara W. Emmons Held

Mrs. Clara W. Emmons, 79, of Sikes, passed away Friday, June 28, 1967 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Emmons was a member of the Sikes Baptist Church, a teacher in the Sikes schools for many years, and the widow of the late W. S. Emmons, who was also a school teacher, having passed away in 1964.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the Sikes Baptist Church with Rev. Willie James officiating. Interment was in Sikes Cemetery.

Survivors include five sons, W. S. Emmons, Jr., Beaumont, Texas, Martel W. Emmons, Baton Rouge, Glenroy Emmons, Monroe, Bob Emmons, Sikes, and one daughter, Mrs. Elinor Hartsell of Magnolia, Ark., nineteen grandchildren.
