C. B. Garrett

Funeral services for C. B. “Scrap” Garrett, 69, of 527 Porter Sr., will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Baldwin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wilson Winstead officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Garrett died Friday in the Veterans Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Madison County, he had lived in Jackson for 55 years. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the V. F. W. Robert C. Nail Post No. 589; and a member of Griffith Memorial Baptist Church. He was a contractor.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Irene Puckett Garrett; two sons, E. J. Keller, Andrew J. Garrett; four daughters, Mrs. Lonnie Hood, Mrs. Thomas Carroll, Mrs. Jack Mace and Mrs. Robbie Barrett, all of Jackson; one brother, James C. Papadol of West Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. John T. Becker Sr., Mrs. Harry L. Beacham, Sr., both of Jackson; twenty-one grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
