Clarence Martin

Services for Clarence Martin will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of John Kramer & Son. Burial will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens.

Martin, 76, of Alexandria died Sunday, Oct. 12, 1997, in St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.

He was an Army Air Corps First Lt. Bombadier of World War II and flew 35 missions over European Theatre in Germany. He was a member of VFW Post No. 1736, American Legion Post No. 3 and Parkview Baptist Church. He was past president of Central Labor Council, past president of Central Louisiana Building and Trade Association and also past business manager and financial secretary of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union No. 576.

Survivors include his wife, Melva Martin of Alexandria; two sons, Dennis R. Martin of Warner-Robins, Ga., and Steven G. Martin of Alexandria; one daughter, Faye Williford of Alexandria; one brother, Carl Martin of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Joan Allen of North Little Rock, Ark.; and six grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. until time of services Tuesday in the funeral home.
