Born August 15, 1920 in Crowville, Louisiana (Franklin Parish) to Jacob and Florence Netherland and passed away October 10, 2007. Mr. Netherland was a Petroleum Engineer, Consultant and Principal in the firm of Netherland, Sewell and Associates. He graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1949 with a petroleum engineering degree . He was a member and past chairman (1965) of the Dallas Section, Society of Petroleum Engineers of AIME; member of the Dallas Geological Society; member and past president (1963) of the Petroleum Engineers Club of Dallas.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Marie Netherland; brothers, Herman, John Henry, Cedell, Lattniss and Woodie; sisters, Vaudie, Cora Avis and Mary Verdue.
He is survived by his children, Jake and Liz Netherland, Marshall Netherland, Priscilla and Gene Norwick and J.R. and Sue Netherland; grandchildren, James Netherland, Ben, Lindsay and Spencer Norwick and William and David Netherland; siblings, O'neal Netherland, Olline Killian and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. Clarence always had a positive and supportive influence on those whose lives he touched. We ask that you honor his memory by continuing the tradition.
Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 PM, Friday, October 12, 2007 at Restland Funeral Home.
Service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 13, 2007 at Park Cities Baptist Church, 3933 Northwest Parkway, Dallas, TX 75225. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park.
