Clarence Truman Kirksey

Odessa - Clarence Truman Kirksey was born in Blanket, Texas, January 13, 1911, to John Edward Kirksey and Sarah Angeline Goates. One of 10 children, C.T. is survived by three brothers: Jack, Noble, and Ed. In 1927, Clarence and his brothers drove a covered wagon and a remuda of horses from Brownwood, Texas, to Portales, New Mexico.

A resident of Odessa, Texas, since 1958, he owned and operated Globe Cleaners until retirement in 1981. Globe displayed the logos ``We sew everything but wild oats'' and ``We clean everything but dirty minds.'' C. T. served on the Medical Center Hospital Board 21 years and was active many years in the Breakfast Optimist Club. His hobbies were bowling, woodworking and writing autobiographical short stories for publication.

His surviving children include: Ray Deane Card, Viola Jane Kirskey, Karon Lee Kirksey and Angeline Johnston; step daughters, Julia Gryder and Jayne Brazeal; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. His wife Ruby Hatch Kirksey preceded him in death. His wife Jessi McLamore Kirksey survives him.

A long time member of Crescent Park Baptist Church, C.T. has served as a deacon and a Sunday School Department Director. In accordance with his wishes there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Crescent Park Baptist Church.

NOTE: C.T. Kirksey had 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and 1 step-grandchild and 1 step great-grandchild, per his daughter, Angeline Kirksey Johnston.
