EDDINGS, CLAUDE BAILEY ``RED'', age 88, of Homewood passed away on Saturday, September 06, 2008.
He was retired from Alabama Power Company after 40 years of service. He was a member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church, a 50 year member of Woodlawn Masonic Lodge # 525, and a Veteran of WWII as an Army Engineer.
Mr. Eddings was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Eddings. He is survived by his daughter, Sue Cleckler; brothers, Joe (Ruth) Eddings, Charles (Sylvia) Eddings, William Eddings, Marvin (Frances) Eddings; sisters, Jenny Faye (Jim) Dupriest and Margaret Weldon; grandchildren, James Eddings (Angie) Cleckler, Ellen Cleckler, and Lizzy Cleckler; great-grandchildren, James Wyatt Cleckler.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 8, 2008 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Montevallo Cemetery. Dr. Gary Fenton will officiate.
