MRS. J. M. HAMMONS SERVICES TOMORROW
Funeral services for Mrs. J. M. Hammons, 54, wife of Deputy Sheriff Hammons, who died early yesterday morning at her residence, 3309 Dick Taylor street, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock at Davis-Lawhead Funeral Home.
The Rev. C. Roger Johnson will officiate and interment will be held at Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Davis Lawhead Funeral Home. The pallbearers will be Carl Barwen, J. D. Busby, H. L. Tolbert, Frank James, Bert Coverdale, and M. W. Cummings. All friends of the family will be honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Hammons, who has been in failing health for several months, is survived by her husband; four sons, Talmadge Hammons, Ray Hammons, Garland Hammons, and Lonnie Hammons; and a daughter, Miss Nell Hammons.
Her surviving husband has been well known as a peace officer in Ouachita parish for many years. He was formerly chief of police of West Monroe, an officer in the Monroe police department, and a few months ago joined the staff of Sheriff Milton Coverdale.
