Clayton Poole

Clayton Poole, 82, of Rosefield, passed from this life on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Hardtner Medical Center in Urania.

He was born July 13, 1928 in Rosefield to the union of his parents, Ezra C. and Eunice McVay Poole.

Mr. Poole was retired from the U. S. Army where he received a Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars and the United Nations Service Medal. He was a member of Rosefield Baptist Church.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 3, at Rosefield Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Doughty officiating.

Interment followed in the Rosefield Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.

He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Poole; his parents; a brother, Malcolm Poole; and sisters, Juanita Price and Johnnie Moore.

Survivors include his wife, Anaise DeVaux Poole of Olla; sons, Huey Lynn Poole of Gravette, AR and Norman Clayton Poole of Albany; daughters, Mackie Loretta Sharp of Jena and Cynthia Renee Poole of Olla; step-sons, John Enterkin, Jr. and James Gregory Enterkin of Iowa City, Iowa; step-daughter, Angela Humphries of Nebo; brother, Orvall Poole of Enterprise; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Zachery Berry, Nathan Jones, Jeremy Hutzler, Dale Overstreet, Jr. and Jason McCarroll.
