C. W. Edwards, Former Teacher Died Monday

C. W. Edwards, 81-year-old retired teacher, died yesterday afternoon at Lincoln General Hospital. Funeral services are Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.

Dr. A. S. Newman will conduct the services. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, under direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home.

Mr. Edwards was a native of Lincoln Parish, and was a member of Temple Baptist Church. He graduated from Louisiana Tech in 1923, and did post graduate work at Louisiana State University and attended business college in Shreveport. He served as principal of a number of schools in Louisiana for 24 years prior to his retirement. He was president of the Retired Teachers Association for seven years.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years, and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Masonic graveside services will be held, and Masons will serve as pallbearers.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Oma Elliott Edwards; one son, Elliott Edwards; one sister, Mrs. John L. Hogan, of Ruston; and a number of nieces and nephews.
