Mrs. Cleo Rigsby
Mrs. Cleo Barnette Rigsby of 1019 22nd Ave. E. died this morning at Druid City Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Alberta Baptist Church, with Dr. J. B. Maxwell and the Rev. J. W. Goins officiating.
Mrs. Rigsby had been employed with Gulf States Paper for 30 years. She was a member of the Behtany [sic Bethany] Sunday School Class and the Alberta Baptist Church, and of the Clara Blackmon Chapter 167, O.E.S.
Survivors include her husband, A. L. Rigsby of Tuscaloosa; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Barnette of Cottondale; three brothers, Paul Barnette and Eber Barnette of Cottondale and Colvin Barnette of Tuscaloosa; three sisters, Mrs. Odell Frost and Mrs. Grace Ward of Cottondale and Mrs. Oda Mae Weaver of Tuscaloosa.
Active pallbearers will be Harold Ward, Eber Barnette Jr., Charles Barnette, Hayward Barnette, Lester McDonald and Deward Lake.
Honorary pallbearers will be J. G. Watkins, Bob Sanders, George Dockery, Dr. W. J. Sensing, B. T. Simes, Hale Armistead, Carl Armistead, Verner Hobson, Hampton Richardson, Harold Essery, Fred B. Swanson, Bryant Anderson, Luther Glover, Floyd Jennings, Dr. H. G. Herrod, Dr. J. W. Sherwood, Dr. John F. Burnum, Jim Armstrong, Clarence Armstrong and J. B. Cunningham.
The body will lie in state at the church from 2 until 4 p.m. Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery, with Spigener-Brown Service in charge of arrangements.
