Cleo Combs Padgett
Cleo Combs Padgett, 91 of Kerens, passed away Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at the Twilight Nursing Home in Corsicana.
She was born July 14, 1923, in Rural Shade Community south of Kerens to Emmett H. Combs and Ludie L. Lemons Combs. She attended Rural Shade and Round Prairie Baptist Church. Mrs. Padgett was an avid lover of flowers especially her roses that surrounded her residence in Rural Shade. Quilting was also another hobby which she spent many hours doing.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Chris Talley Padgett; parents, Emmett and Ludie Combs; two brothers, William Combs and Leonard Combs; grandson, Steven Padgett; and son-in-law, Charles K. Baxter.
Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Wanda Combs of Dallas; four sons and daughter-in-laws, Wayne and Aline Padgett of Beaumont, Lee and Darla Padgett of Wolf City, Waylen and Debbie Padgett of Athens, and Chris and Dorinda Padgett of Lumberton; daughter, Carolyn Padgett Baxter of Vicksburg, Mississippi; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014 at Paschal Funeral Home.
Funeral service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, in the Paschal Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frank Upchurch officiating. Interment will follow in the Long Prairie Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, James Padgett, Mical Padgett, Kyle Padgett, Kevin Padgett, Shane Padgett, Scott Padgett and Waylen Padgett, Jr.
