Winn Parish Man Dies in Auto Wreck

WINNFIELD, April 1 (Special) Clifford J. Sharbano, 26, of Atlanta, La., a veteran of the Korean War, was killed instantly at 6 p.m. Sunday when the pulpwood truck he was driving left the road and crashed into a gulley during a heavy rainstorm.

The accident occurred five miles west of here on State Highway 34.

He was the only occupant of the truck, owned by his father, Will Sharbano, and was en route to his home at Atlanta when he apparently lost control, blinded by the heavy rain.

Army personnel on maneuvers discovered the accident shortly after it happened. State police said Sharbano was thrown from the truck.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Atlanta Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Atlanta Cemetery under the direction of the Southern Funeral Home.

He lived all of his life in Winn Parish, except for his service in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Vivian Sharbano; two daughters, Nadine and Patsy Ann; one son, Bobby, all of Atlanta; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Sharbano of Atlanta; a brother, Roosevelt Sharbano of Montgomery, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Feazell of Pineville and Mrs. Irene Davis of Atlanta.
