Clifton L. ``Tip'' Arinder, 79, died Saturday, April 20, 2002 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson. Services are 10 a.m. today at Lorena Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest is handling arrangements.

Mr. Arinder was an active member of the Lorena Baptist Church and served as the President of the Brotherhood. He faithfully attended the Young at Heart Sunday School class and organized the RA's for the young boys in the church. Mr. Arinder was very active in community affairs and helped organize the Homewood Volunteer Fire Department. He was a state representative for the United Ostomy Association, an active member of the Homewood Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Sons of the Confederacy. Mr. Arinder was retired from the Magnavox Corporation, but he actively worked as a substitute teacher in the Scott County and Forest Municipal Schools.

Mr. Arinder left behind his wife of 57 years, Beulah Mae Sullivan Arinder, a daughter, Janis Arinder Smith, a son, Max K. Arinder, their spouses, Shirl Smith and Diann Arinder, and three grandchildren, Kirby Arinder, Janna Smith Giles, and Joan Smith.
