CLIFTON MAXINE BARTON HUNT, AGE 95
And resident of Mt. Hermon died at 7:15 AM Monday, February 18, 2013 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Franklinton and she thoroughly loved her church family. Mrs. Maxine was a native of Tioga, LA, who lived in California and Oregon, before moving to Washington Parish over 30 years ago. She enjoyed quilting and loved playing cards with her friends and family.
Survived by:
2 Daughters and a son in law: Katherine Mae Oliveaux and James Madison Oliveaux of Hebert, LA, Rosie Marie Nelson Newsom of Mt. Hermon
2 Sons and daughters in law: Jackson Earnest Nelson and Flora Paula Nelson of Ponchatoula, Clifford Lee Nelson and Kimberly Nelson of Sandy, Oregon
Sister: Mildred Roylance of Texas
Sister in law: Pearl Emmons of Loranger
17 Grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a son Floyd Virgil Nelson, husbands Earnest Newton Nelson and Cornelius Ned Hunt, father Ben Barton, mother and step father Eula Ates Emmons and Allen Emmons, great grandsons Michael Anthony Newsom, Jr. and William Chesnutt, and 4 brothers Frank Emmons, Allen Emmons, Jr., J.W. “Dub” Emmons and Ray Emmons.
Visitation will be at First United Pentecostal Church of Franklinton from 5 PM until 9 PM Wednesday, February 20, 2013 and after 9 AM Thursday. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday with Rev. James Hamilton, Rev. Stan Statham, and Rev. Gilbert Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
