Clyde Albert Cook
Funeral services for Clyde Albert Cook, 69, of 359 Woodberry Circle, Raeford, N.C., formerly of Mt. Holly Springs, will be held on Thursday, at 10 a.m. in the United Methodist Church, 202 W. Butler St., Mt. Holly Springs. He died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, N.C.
Born on April 8, 1933, in Bloomsburg, he was a son of the late Clyde Aldis and Tishie Mae (Parker) Cook. He resided most of his life in Mt. Holly Springs. He was a graduate of Bloomsburg High School, Bloomsburg, and attended Costal Carolina Community College for two years. He served 20 years in the U. S. Marine Corps was a veteran of the Vietnam War and awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with two devices, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with palm, the Presidential Unit Citation and the Good Conduct Medal fifth award. He retired at the rank of master sergeant. After his retirement, he was employed by Roger Wittenbach Business System, Timonium, Md. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Mt. Holly Springs, and the Cumberland Valley Car Club.
Mr. Cook is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary K.(Lewis) Cook; a son, James D., of Mt. Holly Springs; four daughters, Darlene Keesler of California, Md., Karen Payan and Cathy Paugh, both of Danville, and Mary M. Kendall of Mt. Holly Springs; a brother, Clarence of Danville; and nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Coss, who died in 1986.
The Rev. Bradley C. Knepp will officiate at services. Burial with military honors will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Township, Lebanon.
Friends may call on Thursday, from 9 a.m. until time of services at the church.
Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements.
