Clyde Eagleston Guice

Clyde Eagleston Guice, resident of Sarepta, passed away peacefully surrounded by all those who loved him deeply to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Nov. 26, 2011 at the age of 82 at his home.

Clyde was born on July 14, 1929 in Darnell. Clyde served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1949. After the military, Clyde worked as a maintenance man and carpenter. Clyde met his wife Carol Esselink Guice in Denver, Colorado and married on Oct. 10, 1969.

Clyde is survived by his wife, Carol Guice; children, Sandra Adams, Pam Audirsch, David Guice, Cecil Guice, Debra Wynn, Bonnie Strozier, Marvin Guice, Danita Russell, Jeff Guice, Patty Garcia, Brian Guice, Douglas Guice, Stacey Moore and Denae Gillentine.

Clyde has 36 grandkids and 35 great-grandkids, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Beatrice Guice; brother, Robert Guice; sister, Irene Hawsey; brother, Gene Guice; sister, Mildred Welch; brother, George Guice; and grandson, Bradley Meachum.

Visitation will be today (Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011) at Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden. Family visitation will be from 3 until 5 p.m. and from 5 until 8 p.m. for friends and guests. Funeral services will be Wednesday Nov. 30, 2011 at Old Sarepta Baptist Church, in Sarepta at 2 p.m. Pastor Don McCormick and Joseph Gillentine will be officiating services.
