Oakdale Man Killed In One-Car Accident

OAKDALE -- An Oakdale man was killed in a one-car accident at 1:20 a.m. Saturday on Louisiana Highway 1153 about two miles north of Oakdale, according to State Police Troop D.

Police said Clyde D. Jarnagin, 31, was driving north on Highway 1153 when his car swerved out of control to the right, left the roadway on the left and hit a tree. Jarnagin was ejected out of the rear window, police said.

Jarnagin was a member of Moose Lodge No. 643.

Services for Jarnagin will be at 3 p.m. today in West Baptist Church with the Revs. Jack Duplechain and Kenneth Crumbley officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery under direction of Ardoin.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Darlene Jarnagin of Oakdale; one son, Scotty Dwayne Jarnagin of Oakdale; one daughter, Jessica Lynn Jarnagin of Oakdale; two brothers, John H. Jarnagin and Harold L. Jarnagin, both of Oakdale; and one sister, Ruth Johnson of Oakdale.
