McDOWELL, CLYDE
Died Thursday morning, May 6, in Fields Memorial Hospital in Centreville, Miss. Age 70, was native and resident of Coles, Miss. Was retired grocer and had operated store in Baton Rouge for many years.
Body at the McDowell residence in Coles, Miss., until 1:30 p.m. Friday. Services at Crosby Baptist Church, at 2 p.m. Friday, followed by burial in the McDowell family cemetery in Coles.
Survivors include his widow, the former Trudie Greshman [sic Gresham], Coles; a son, Harry McDowell, Marrero; a daughter, Mrs. Earl Finley, Newellton; four sisters, Miss Mannie [sic Nannie] McDowell, Coles; Mrs. Myrtis Crichlow, New Orleans; Mrs. Brown Minor, Crosby, Miss.; and Mrs. Jessie L. Crum, Baton Rouge; one brother, John McDowell, Coles; several grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Was member of Crosby Baptist Church.
