CLYDE WHITTINGTON DIES
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday,
October 31, 1989 at Catchings Funeral Home of
McComb, for Clyde Whittington, 75, a resident of
Magnolia. Rev. A. D. Rhodes and Rev. Charles
Campbell officiated.
Mr. Whittington died Monday, October 30, 1989
in Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.
He was born October 27, 1914 in Bude, the son of
Tom P. Whittington and Rebecca Coleman
Whittington. He was a retired supervisor for Croft
Metals, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of
First Church of the Nazarene in Magnolia.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Morgan
Whittington, Magnolia; two sons: James Whittington,
Magnolia and Keith (Pete) Whittington, Brookhaven;
three daughters: Janice Campbell,
McComb, Karole Rushing, Magnolia and Ruby
Whittington, Jackson; one brother, Tommy
Whittington, Baton Rouge, LA; six grandchildren
and a number of nieces and nephews.
Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery.
