C. W. Lowrey Dies In West Blocton

Mr. Clyde W. Lowrey passed away at his home in West Blocton on Saturday, November 11th, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Lowrey was born and reared in Bibb County and had lived in West Blocton practically all his life.

He had been a member of the First Baptist Church since early childhood and had many fine attributes of character that endeared him to a host of friends here and all over the County.

Before his illness he was employed by the Joe Israel Clothing Store.

He is survived by one brother, W. E. Lowrey of Birmingham; two Sisters, Miss Della Lowrey of West Blocton and Mrs. Guy A. Ligon of Globe, Arizona.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church Sunday afternoon, November 12th with Rev. Chas. E. Langston the Pastor officiating, assisted by Rev. W. D. Boling the Methodist Pastor. A choir of mixed voices rendered two beautiful musical selections.

Pallbearers were W. T. Morrison, W. A. Jones, Horace McIntosh, Sam Morse, Wilcox Randle and Harry Ray.

Interment was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Roland-Desmond Funeral Directors in charge.
