Mrs. Cora H. Smith

Funeral services for Mrs. Cora H. Smith, 74, of Winnsboro, were held at 10 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 24, in Boeuf River Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce Cardin and the Rev. Paul Amstutz officiating.

Interment was in Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.

A native of Winnfield, she was born Nov. 27, 1909. She was a housewife. She died on Oct. 22, 1983, following a lengthy illness.

Survivors include three sons, Walter Pippins, and Earl Pippins, both of Slidell and Harold Pippins, Morgan City; two daughters, Betty Young, Charleston, W.V., and Neva Newcomer, Da[y]tona Beach, Fla.; one brother Jeff Hawsey, Winnsboro; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Nugent, Monroe, Mrs. Doris Hendry and Mrs. Bonita Thompson, both of Winnsboro; 10 grandchildren and a host of neices [sic nieces] and nephews.
