MRS. J. O. (Cora) PERRY
Funeral services for Mrs. J. O. (Cora) Perry, 67, are to be conducted at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the Jasper county Antioch Baptist church with the Rev. Johnny M. Foy, Sr., the Rev. G. E. Wells, and the Rev. T. O. Matthews officiating. Interment in the churchyard cemetery will follow.
Death came at 6:15 a.m. Monday at her 921 Short Masonite street home following an illness of long duration.
A resident of Laurel for the past 13 years, she was widely known in the community. She was a member of the Church of God.
Named as pallbearers are grandsons, including Charles Perry, Dale Perry, Edward Perry, Lavon Perry, Ralph Perry and L. B. Lowe.
She leaves her husband, J. O. Perry, Laurel; four daughters, Mrs. Harvey James, Laurel; Mrs. Cecil Graham, Greenville; Mrs. Granville Sellers, Laurel; and Mrs. Albert Taylor, Leakesville; two sons, Harvey Perry, Soso; and G. T. Perry, Laurel.
A sister, Mrs. Carl Holifield, Laurel; two brothers, Otto Thames and Lonnie Thames, both of Stringer; 21 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
The body lies within the chapel of a Laurel funeral home to await the hour of the final rites.
