SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Mrs. Coreen Humphrey Emmons, 82, of Shreveport will he [sic be] held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Henry Staggs, pastor of Oakmont Church of God, assisted by Brother Billy Franks, evangelist. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Emmons, a native of Bienville Parish, La. and resident of Shreveport for 62 years, died Saturday, August 26, 1989, at Schumpert Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oakmont Church of God.
Mrs. Emmons was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Charles Ward Brister and one daughter, Dorothy Ogburn.
Survivors include son, Roy L. Brister of Mansfield, La.; daughters, Evelyn Carter of Cedar City, Utah, Doris Hooker of Shreveport and Sandra Barnett of Bossier City; sisters, Pearl Waites, Jessie Greenlee, Vera Holland and Lucille Jones, all of Shreveport; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Richard Ogburn, Robert Ogburn, David Huddleston, Lee Smith, Brian Barnett and Joe Barnett.
