Funeral services for Joseph Coy Jackson, 68, of 1710 Cole Ave., Monroe, were at 2 p.m. today at the Hixson Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Monroe with the Revs. Carlton Harper and M. G. Parker officiating.
Burial was in Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson.
Mr. Jackson died Saturday at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe after a brief illness. He was a retired painter at Northeast Louisiana University and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors included his widow, Mrs. Gladys Jackson of Monroe; one son, Joseph Coy Jackson Jr. of Monroe; five daughters, Mrs. Bobbie Kirby of Hebert, Mrs. Frankie Kirby of Sicily Island, Mrs. Billie Alford of Norton, Miss.; Ms. Jo Nita Quaid of Monroe; Mrs. Nancy Butler of West Monroe; one brother, Kirby Jackson of Carson, Miss.; three sisters, Mrs. T. H. Lee of Jackson, Miss.; Mrs. Carrie Bass of Natchez, Miss. and Mrs. Jeffie Lee of Carson, Miss.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Eddie Butler, Tommy Kirby, Mike Sheperd, Herman Moore, Glenn Kenney and K. T. Thornhill.
