Curtis E. Slaughter
NATCHITOCHES -- Services for Curtis E. Slaughter will be at 10 a.m. today in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis with the Revs. Luther Despino and Gary Baldwin officiating. Burial will be in New Cedron Cemetery, Vowell's Mill.
Slaughter, 73, of Vowell's Mill died at 2:15 p.m. Thursday in Natchitoches Parish Hospital.
He was a retired custodian at Provencal High School and a veteran of World War II. He was a native of Vowell's Mill.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Slaughter of Vowell's Mill; one son, Howard Irvin Slaughter of Provencal; three daughters, Annette Slaughter of Robeline, Theresa Calhoun of Vowell's Mill and Belinda Parker of Ebarb; two sisters, Effie Knippers of Provencal and Ethel Flennigan of Hobbs, N.M.; one brother, George Riley Slaughter Jr. of Burlington, N.J.; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jason Slaughter, Glen Brasell, Gary Brasell, James Calhoun, Lovell Slaughter, Kenny Penrod, Bobby W. Calhoun and Tyler Parker.
