WHITTINGTON, SR. CURTIS E. ``BUCK''

A resident of Baker and retired from Exxon Co. USA with 30 years of service, he died at 8:10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 67 and a native of Gloster, Miss. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Visiting was at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Visiting at Church of Christ, 39th Street and Hemlock, Zachary, from 11:30 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by James C. Gee. Interment in Azalea Rest Cemetery, Zachary.

Survived by his wife, Vivian McKey Whittington; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Stephen Knight of Luling, and Wendy and Randy Gates of Zachary; a son, Curtis E. Whittington Jr. of Baker; two sisters, Dora Wilkerson and Retha Floyd; two brothers, Harry and Sammy Whittington; and five grandchildren, Jonathan, Hope and Stephen Knight and Leland and Dannie Gates.

Preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Neva Whittington.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan, Stephen and David Knight, Junior Dawson, Jerry Byrd, Al Mauldin, Harold Henderson and Sammy Hives. Honorary pallbearers are Winston Oakes, Jerry ``Buck'' Byrd, Clarence Hall, W.C. ``Dub'' Hopkins, Byron Andrus, Pat Howard and John LeCompte.
