Curtis Lindell McNair
Curtis Lindell McNair, 79, of Mandeville (previously of Ponchatoula), Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 9, 2013.
Curtis was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Sue Emmons McNair.
He is survived by their children, Cathy and her husband Buck Brignac (Hammond), Kevin McNair (Luling) and Karen and her husband Joe Wale (Ponchatoula). Loving grandfather to Rechelle, Matthieu and Shelby; Amanda; Richard, Chris and Jennifer and great-grandfather to Cameron, Baylee, Kearsten, Joseph and Zoey. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Peggy L. McNair and her children Julie and her husband Cliff Hall (Covington), Laurie Vignes (Covington), Richard and his wife Jenni (Franklin, TN); and her grandchildren Aaron, Renee, Cliff II and Joshua; Jarred, Jennifer and Jacob; Matthew, Hannah, Timothy, Ashley, Katie, and Lauren. Curtis is also survived by his siblings Lloyd and his wife Frances McNair, Charlotte and her husband Dayton Sanders and Billy and his wife Becky McNair and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dona Leora and William Archie McNair and siblings Exie Evans, Ollie Ogletree, Katie Weeks, Eva McNair, Pauline Jackson, Jim McNair and brother-in-law Pat Emmons.
Curtis worked as a Millwright for over 30 years. He was a member of the Square & Compass Masonic Lodge 417 F & AM (Kenner), the Jerusalem Shriners and Millwright Local #1931 (New Orleans). He served in the Marines.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 15th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Harry McKneely & Sons in Hammond and on Monday, December 16th visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. with Funeral Services officiated by Ken Schroeder, Pastor of Mandeville First Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. at Harry McKneely and Sons. Burial will follow immediately at Sandhill Cemetery.
