WALNUT GROVE -- Curtis Ray Jordan, 88, a retired construction superintendent and farmer, died of heart failure Sunday in Leake Memorial Hospital in Carthage.

Services are 1 p.m. today at Mount Zion Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Wilcox Funeral Home of Carthage is handling arrangements.

Mr. Jordan was a native of Leake County. He was a deacon at Mount Zion Baptist Church. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Carpenters Union Local 1471 for more than 50 years.

Survivors include: wife, Juaniece; sons, Jerry Jordan and Cecil Jordan, both of Walnut Grove; brother, Dale Jordan of Florence; and four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
