Dale Jordan, 82, died Sunday, August 22, 2004, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today and 9 a.m. Wednesday at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with burial in Briar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Florence. Rev. Malcolm Pinion and Rev. Danny Powell will officiate. Music will be provided by Doug Spires and Brenda Smith on the organ.

Mr. Jordan was a very active member of Briar Hill Baptist Church, where he served in many different capacities. He served his church as a deacon, member of the Grounds Committee, and a member of the Building Committee that completed the new church sanctuary in 1999.

Mr. Jordan was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to everyone who met him. His kind and gentle spirit touched many lives. His biggest enjoyment in life came from helping others, never asking for anything in return. His focus in life was to serve the Lord and take care of his family.

Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his wife, Delphia Dee Jordan.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Dot and Wally Nicholson of Florence; son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Barbara Jordan of Greenville, Ga.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers for Mr. Jordan will be Ricky Nicholson, Bradley Nicholson, Mike McNair, Scott Jordan, Steve Thompson, and Curtis Marbury.
