On Monday, March 30, 2009, Damaris Smith Adams died at the age of 80 at her home in Dodson, Louisiana surrounded by family following a short illness.

She was born in Whistler, Alabama and was a longtime resident of Monroe, Lafayette and Dodson, Louisiana,

She is survived by a daughter, Janice Adams of Lafayette, adopted daughter Patsy Angelle of Lafayette, son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Lynette Adams of Lafayette, son and daughter-in-law, Carl & Pat Adams of Baton Rouge and grandson, Matthew Adams of Baton Rouge. She is also survived by dear friends, Betty Napper of Monroe, John Morse, and Dinah Garr of Dodson.

Preceded in death by her husband, Glynn Adams of Garrs Mill and her 2 sisters and 6 brothers.

A memorial service will be held at Midway Baptist Church in Jonesboro, on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 11:00 AM.
