Rites Held Today For Victim Of Wreck In Tullos

TULLOS (Special) -- Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today for Dan Hammond, 73, of Georgetown, who was killed instantly Tuesday in a car-truck accident in Tullos.

The Rev. James Simond officiated at rites in Selman Baptist Church and burial under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, was in Lincecum Cemetery at Georgetown.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eunice Hammond of Georgetown, who was seriously injured in the mishap, and is in Baptist Hospital in Alexandria; three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Jones of Monroe, Mrs. Elaine Hemphill and Mrs. Lula Wetzel of Shreveport; a stepmother, Mrs. Mattie Hammond of Melville; a stepson, Lavelle Peoples of Springhill; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Daisy Morrow of Ball and Mrs. Ruth Lincecum of Georgetown; four brothers, Will Hammond of Georgetown, Ossie Hammond and Jim Hammond of Plaucheville and Isiah Hammond of Melville; a sister, Mrs. Azzie Benson of Bogalusa; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
