Dan Moody Hooker
(July 14, 1926 - June 23, 2006)

Graveside services for Mr. Dan M. Hooker, age 79 of Carthage will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2006 at Woods Cemetery under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Hooker passed away on Friday, June 23, 2006 in Carthage, Texas. Dan M. Hooker was born on July 14, 1926 in the Woods Community to Charlie B. and Lolette Knight Hooker. Mr. Hooker attended Carthage Schools and worked in farming, construction, highway mowing, and truck driving. He was formerly employed with Letourneau and later King Tank Company in Longview, Texas. Mr. Hooker has been in Carthage since July of 2005 and was a member of the Woods United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Inez Bellemy Hooker in 2000, two brothers, and two sisters. Mr. Hooker is survived by his brother, Charles Hooker and wife Carolyn of Tenaha; three sisters, Alliece Smith and husband Seth of Carthage, Louise Sharp of Longview, and Floy Bousman of Nacogdoches; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends also survive.

Serving as pallbearers are Don Smith, Chad Smith, Jeff Hooker, Jim Cumbie, Roland Cross, and David Giles.
