Graveside Service for Mr. Daniel Benjamin Emmons, 93, of West Monroe, will be 10:00 AM Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Twin Cities Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Emmons died February 11, 2008. Mr. Emmons was preceded in death by his wife Marian A. Emmons.
Survivors include Eileen Emmons Altenberg and her husband Al, Daniel M. Emmons and his wife Joyce, Jennifer Emmons Bryan and her husband Jeff; grandchildren, John Altenberg and his wife Beth, Daniel Ray Emmons, Robert Altenberg, David Emmons, Joanna Bagley and her husband Billy, Jeffrey Bryan Jr.; great grandchildren, Zack, Seth, Alison Paige, Mallory, and Ellie.
Mr. Emmons was a veteran of World War II. He served as a Technical Sergeant US Army 4th Division Headquarters Battery 42nd Field Artillery Battalion. He was active in planning the D-Day invasion of Utah Beach. He was awarded a Bronze Star for bravery after the Battle of the Bulge.
Mr. Emmons had a special heart for his grandchildren. He will be remembered and greatly missed.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, February 13, 2008 under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
