Daniel Crain, 3 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Brawton Crain of Shreveport died at the St. Francis sanitarium, Monroe, Saturday night, from injuries received Saturday morning at 8:30, when the car in which he was riding with his aunt, Mrs. J. D. Ingouff, of Monroe, struck loose gravel on the Gaars Mill road and ran into a ditch. The accident occurred one mile south of Gaars Store. Mrs. Ingouff was enroute to Sikes to visit her mother, Mrs. A. L. Crain.

When the Ford car which Mrs. Ingouff was driving struck loose gravel, she lost control of the wheel and the car turned into a ditch hitting the embankment. The impact threw the Crain child and Mrs. Ingouff's eight year old son, Edward, out of the machine. The young boy was critically injured and succumbed that night. Edward Ingouff was unhurt but Mrs. Ingouff was painfully bruised and cut and is receiving treatment at the St. Francis sanitarium.

Funeral services for Daniel Crain were held Monday morning at 10:30 at Shreveport with interment in the St. Joseph's cemetery. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Brawton Crain of Shreveport. He also leaves his grandmother, Mrs. A. L. Crain, of Sikes; his grandfather, Mr. Gloraso [sic Glorioso] of Shreveport, and a large number of aunts and uncles.
