WELBORN, DANIEL WYMAN

Died Sunday April 8, 1990, at Beauregard Memorial Hospital, DeRidder. He was 53, a native and resident of DeRidder. He was owner and operator of Welborn Monument and Fence Company of DeRidder, was principal of Tanglewood Elementary School in Baton Rouge for 10 years, and taught at Lanier Elementary School in Baton Rouge prior to his principalship at Tanglewood. He moved back to DeRidder in 1979 after 23 years of teaching and principalship in the Baton Rouge area. Religious services at First United Pentecostal Church, DeRidder, 2 p.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. George Glass Jr. and the Rev. T.F. Tenney. Burial in Beauregard Cemetery, DeRidder.

Survived by wife, Mrs. Daniel (Yvonne Lewis) Welborn, DeRidder; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Delena McKee Welborn, DeRidder; a grandson, John Middleton Welborn III, DeRidder; and a daughter, Sarabeth Welborn, DeRidder.

He was a graduate of Southwestern University and received his masters plus 30 hours at L.S.U. He was a member of Louisiana Association of Educators, Louisiana Association of Retired Teachers and Principals, Louisiana Association of Elementary Principals, DeRidder Chamber of Commerce, Louisiana Wool Growers Association, and served as Secretary of Hopewell Cemetery Association.
