Darris B. Whittington
Darris Brantley Whittington, 80, of McComb, died April 21, 2004, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.
Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb and 11 a.m. Friday until services there at 2 p.m. The Rev. LeeCastello will officiate. Burial will be in Whittington Cemetery in Summit.
Mrs. Whittington was born Oct. 6, 1923, in Amite County to H.T. and Gertrude Brantley.
She retired after working as a beautician in McComb for more than 30 years. She loved yardwork and gardening and was a longtime member of North McComb Baptist Church.
Mrs. Whittington was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Allan Whittington Sr.; and a sister, Edna Greer.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James Allan Whittington Jr. and Sue of McComb; one daughter, Gaye Whittington of Leesville, S.C.; one brother and sister-in-law, H.T. and Myra Brantley of Alabama; two grandchildren, Marty Bradberry and wife Cathy of Leesville, and Dr. James A. Whittington III of Hattiesburg; and two great-grandchildren, Katie and Ashley Bradberry.
